Vibes at Tommy Hilfiger SS16
Tommy Hilfiger is one of the most sought out fashion shows of all fashion week. Showing on Monday, after the long weekend of NYFW parties, everyone who is anyone attends the show. The list of attendees ranges from A list models, bloggers, and editors. This time was no different.
The show took place on a deserted Pier, where Tommy and his crew transformed the venue into an island getaway. A lago
on, beach island shack, island music, and even real sand under the seats (yes, the real sand even got all over my suede boots) created a sense of a mini getaway. The collection was inspired by Hilfiger’s visits to the island of Mustique over the last 30 years. The collection has a jaimaican vibe, where the colors and fabrics were re-invented in a new and modern way. The crochet bathing suits and dresses, chiffon dresses, and 70’s boho vibes were celebrated in this new collection.
Gigi Hadid stole the show walking in a string crochet bikini and finished off the show in a beautiful crochet dress. As the show came to an end, and everyone had their phones out, Gigi and a pack of other models strutted into the lagoon wearing their crochet bikins. You don’t see that everyday.
One of the best moments of my life was after the show. I had met Chiara Ferragni (I’ve met her before but never with a photo op) and finally took a photo with her! It was rather shocking because there was literally no one around us to take the photo and while I was almost freaking out, Mariano Di Vaio offered to take the photo of us! If you don’t know, Mariano is pretty much the hottest man on the planet and equivalent to Chiara in his accomplishments with blogging and acting/modeling. It was a day to remember!
