How to Take Care of Your Body This Week

Sunday, March 6, 2016

I’ll admit it. I let myself go recently. Food, sleep, stress, working out. I even skipped on my nightly skincare routine the other night. That major! I can count on my fingers how many times I haven’t washed my face at night in the past year.

I’m ashamed. I’m just exhausted lately. So much to figure out, so little time.

Now, I know that’s no excuse. I CAN make time if I want to, I just need to set my mind to it.

And today it clicked.

I woke up, groggy and bloated. Something I haven’t felt in years. I just don’t feel healthy anymore. I HATE this feeling. SO.

Starting today, I swore to myself that I am going to use my body to the best of its abilities.

I was reminded when I was watching Madonna on the Tonight Show a few months back. When confronted with how she looks so good her age (because she looks amazing!!) she said her dad told her that if you have a car, you don’t keep in the garage – you drive it. That’s what our body is. We shouldn’t store it or hide it, we need to USE it.

I’m sure that’s not the direct quote, but something along those lines.

So, this week.. What am I doing differently to begin my new health journey?

  1. Trying to make it to the gym 1-2 times a day, no matter how little the workout – it’s the new habit that matters

  2. Drink 5 glasses of water. L

  3. Less coffee. More green tea.

  4. Start drinking my omega 3’s again + my usual vitamins

  5. Start using my eye cream again + get an extended facial on Monday

  6. Practice thinking positive thoughts and meditate in the morning for everyday 7 days.
