LV Capucine MM from Bag Borrow or Steal
Only the most fabulous bag for this summer season (and beyond), this perfect pop of red is exactly what I’m craving when I’m getting dressed in the morning. I can wear a totally boring outfit, but the bag just makes it POP. Meet the Louis Vuitton Capucine MM, the smaller size of the two styles, and sells for $5,150. Yeah. Expensive right? What if I could tell you a way that you could wear chic new designer items without dropping 5k every month?
ENTER: Bag Borrow or Steal. They are a local Seattle company that lets you borrow (and buy) handbags for a certain fee a month. If you’ve seen Sex and the City where J Hudson mentions that she borrowed that LV for a month, this is the exact company! As many of you know, I started this blog/twitter/IG because I wanted to post items that I bought, because I’m a huge brat obvi. It’s pretty amazing that now I get sent designers things to wear and show you guys.
The process is fairly easy, you just go through and pick your favorite bag, check out and pay, and they send you a bag in a few days. You just have to ship it back in 30 days!
My review on this bag from Bag Borrow or Steal? I AM OBSESSED. I love this color. BUT, I wouldn’t wear it past September. It’s too bright for me and ruins my IG aesthetic (my photographer is yelling at me about it!). I love a good classic piece, which is why I’m willing to spend that 4-5k, but for a trendy piece that will be out of style in a few months, I’d recommend checking out Bag Borrow or Steal.
More about the bag from Purse Blog because they always feature me during Fashion Week:)
The bag comes in two sizes, MM and GM, with a 1.5 inch difference in width between them (14.2 for the MM, 15.7 for the GM) and a price difference of $450 ($5,150 vs. $5,600). That kind of pricing puts the brand firmly in Hermes territory, a comparison that Vuitton is likely hoping to draw with its new leather offerings and their attendant prices. Currently, the GM only comes in two colors (black and red), while the MM comes in a range of six shades, including one that’s strikingly similar to Hermes’ signature orange. The bags’ hardware varies between silver and gold, depending on the leather color. Check out some of our favorite versions below or get more information about both the MM and GM versions via Louis Vuitton.
