The blazer is back – and not just for your office meeting.
In the midst of the bleak midwinter, everyone has been caught up with the oversized knit chunky sweaters and (if you must admit) yoga pants and sweaters. I get it, fashion sometimes has to be sacrificed for convenience, especially during a 6AM wake up call. Just don’t forget about the actual concept of sartorial dressing 😉
You wont regret taking a risk on a statement blazer this season – a polished, smart jacket bestows the wearer with confidence and poise.
I’ve seen a few of my favorite fash pack girls sporting this look, primarily not to discredit Giorgia Tordini, who’s become my newest fashion muse. I’ve really been obsessed with European fashion – especially those in Milan – if you haven’t peeked my Instagram feed lately. Being au courant on all things fashionable and chic just runs in their blood, really. We must take note.
Instead of the traditional button, I actually prefer the cinched waist with a belt I grabbed at forever21. It adds a contemporary touch that is often lost with blazers.
On a financial investment note: I’ve had this blazer for about 3 years now and it never fails me, I probably wear it a few times a month and always pack it on my trips. The wide-leg trouser is from Max Mara – seriously recommend, they fit like a glove. I’m sure both of these pieces will outlive most of the clothing I purchase this year.
